Chapter #5, Rudder

ESTIMATED COST OF ASSEMBLY: $800
MODIFICATIONS:  A marine-grade drain petcock was added to the lower rudder.  An electricly activated trim tab was added to lower rudder.
NOTES ON PLANS:  Oddly enough, the rudder was a little difficult to build.  It has lots of angles and the only consistantly flat areas are the spars.  The upper assembly was not too difficult but the lower assembly, with the integral water rudder was a little tricky.
NOTES ON ASSEMBLY:  Work off of the spar centerline by elevating the spars above the end ribs with their curved  leading edges
THINGS I WOULD DO DIFFERENTLY NEXT TIME:  Probably make the trim tab larger, I fear I will have to add to it in the future to make it effective enough.
